*sigh*
I know it's a mean thing to say, but I really really would not be sad if Jonathan Sanchez was traded. It's a shame that a guy with so much talent just cannot get it together. It's more frustrating when you get these flashes of absolute brilliance sandwiched by mediocrity. What do you think it is folks? Is it that he's not as good as we think, or is it something mental? Weigh in people!

Pretty much the way I see it is it's a mental problem with him. First start of the season he strikes out something like 10 batters in 5 innings then lets go a home run to the Padres back up catcher then he fell apart. Then he gets his start skipped, can't find the strike zone for the next 2 starts. Today Randy Winn can't catch that foul ball and dude hits a single in a 10 pitch at bat, and Sanchez gets mad and makes mistakes. When one little thing goes wrong he simply can't seem to keep his composure. I would like the Giants to stay patient with him, because with the likelihood of Johnson retiring after this season I think Sanchez is important to keep in the rotation. The Giants do need a bat however, and if it takes one of our starters to get one then I guess Sanchez is the guy I would begrudgingly give up on.
